Certainly my second fav Virus album after 'Wormhole' which says quite a lot 'Travel the galaxy' is a full in your face dancefloor album oozing funk and dark basslines. Chubrub' is a stormer and reminds me of the tech years of 97-98 and was and is a firm fav of Andy C. This is a must have cd full of drum & bass stormers. Répondre Me notifier 2 Helpful. Listen free to Ed Rush & Optical Travel the Galaxy City 17, Temper and more. 12 tracks 76:13. They released some solid music The Creeps, 2000 and some not-so-wonderful The Original Dr. Shade, 2003, but none of it really giving fans any indication that Ed Rush and Optical were heading anywhere except down the same well-traveled coaster tracks. Travel the Galaxy is so much damn fun. So many familiar sounds are resurrected here, the gritty electric guitar samples, the eerie soaring synths, and the buzzsaw basslines that put Ed Rush and Optical on the map. And I'll be damned, but they all sound so fresh. Ed rush & optical. Released 2009. Travel the Galaxy Tracklist. City 17 Ft. Ryme tyme Lyrics. About Travel the Galaxy. Travel the Galaxy Q&A

Unfortunately the vinyl release doesn't include Padded Cells. Although all of the tracks on the LP release are extremely strong I would have loved Padded Cells to be included. It's a real stormer of a tune. Nonetheless, worth picking up and getting your hands dirty with.

I totally slept on this release when it came out. It came out during a rough patch. Well, I got a copy for $10 with shipping in mint condition. After sitting on it for the past 12 months, I've concluded that this is my favorite drum and bass album ever. Every song hits hard and it is just a 100% in your face techstep. No fluff. Love it!

A little bit disappointed that they didn't put 'Space Monkey' on vinyl instead of 'Titanium' but i agree with storerettz; It's a must have DnB album. _0_

This album is a must for any dark DnB fan. My personal favourite is Snaggletooth which samples Apocalypse Now & Sin City. Grab yourself a copy. you won't be disappointed.

What a great album from Ed Rush + Optical -- I like many others have been waiting for some time for this album (or at the very least, this trademark older Virus sound) to be released. Mind you, this album is nothing that I would consider groundbreaking - not like Wormhole or The Creeps - but still a very welcome return to the older sound, with some updates to bring it all to the present. (Neuro and tech fans, unite!) To add to the previous review, Chubrub is a tune-and-a-half indeed, but there are certainly other tracks on this LP that deserve mentioning as well. Schranders Dice and Snaggletooth, especially Snaggletooth... just absolutely essential material, definitely an album that, like the other Virus material, I will be playing for many many years to come.

For me this is all about Chubrub. I remember the old Ed Rush and Optical releases, especially The Creeps LP, that introduced you to sounds that, otherwise, you would have found impossible to believe existed. With Chubrub, we get an average enough intro, then straight into that Pacman-ish vibe which reminds you of a horde of Scarab Beetles biting their way through a building. Beautiful trippy drums and symbols keep the beat tight, then we get the breakdowns, which end in a sound that is like the sort of sound a horse would emit if you threw it on a bonfire. Classic tune
