This record sound great! It is a very clean pressing. Not get any distortion or skipping.
Dodo
My pressing sounds fantastic, nice and loud but not a lot of surface noises not even on Something I Can Never Have. Skipped once but I cleaned it and it was gone. Only complaint is that the bass isn't as loud as it should be. Otherwise.. if you find this cheap.. take the chance.
Venemarr
My copy sounds great. There are no skips in any track.
Ndlaitha
Mine too. I bought the UMe pressing (not Bicycle) unopened and opened it myself; there is not a single scratch or skip. I haven't compared with my OG cassette (which is how I listened to this record almost daily for several years) to confirm any recording issues with this pressing, but it sounds great to me. The recording sounds good but as is typical of that era of industrial/dance, the production on the bass frequencies lacks the punch we've grown used to after 2 decades of hip-hop and techno.

I'm having the exact same problems as everyone else with the UMe pressing. "Head Like a Hole" skips during every chorus which is a real shame since that's one of the best songs on the album IMO. I don't have much in the way of a high-end audiophile vinyl setup at all, but the overall sound is just not as good compared to my old CD version in several ways. There seems to be something a little off with the pitch and the speed, some people have said that a lot of these were pressed off-center so that might be the cause. Also, it seems like the bass is almost entirely nonexistant in several key places such as the beginning of "Sanctified" and a lot of "Terrrible Lie".All in all, I'd say this pressing is a waste of money which is a damn shame considering what a cool album this is. I'll be returning this ASAP.

Get a cheap test record like: https://www.discogs.com/No-Artist-The-V15-Type-V-Shure-Audio-Obstacle-Course/release/3063721Make sure it passes the anti-skating tests.

So. I bought 3 copies of this version and I have some infos :1. UMe version with the B side skipping a lot on every track. I returned it.2. UMe version with Head Like a Hole skipping about 20 times. After a lot of scratching on the problem areas, i "cleaned" the skipping problem on a lot of parts, but 3 skippings (1 looped) remained. I returned it.3. Bicycle version. Yes there is another version with the same barcode. there is a bicycle logo instead of UMe on the back of the sleeve. This press is heavier (obviously 180g). And the sound is better. No skipping problem at all. But there is another problem (this press can't be perfect...) "Something I can never have" has a poor sound, some distorsion on the voice (some "s" words) and loud parts. In conclusion, if you want to buy this version, go for the Bicycle logo not the UMe one. But it is not a perfect version for this album. It's just a cheap one (10€ for me, worth the price).
Moralsa
dirty_epic_2501"Something I can never have" has a poor sound, some distorsion on the voice (some "s" words) and loud parts. That's probably just your setup mistracking? Should check your cartridge alignment, tracking force, etc.But yeah regardless it doesn't seem like this is a great pressing
Kanek
Well, someone apparently heard me and added it to the database the same day, haha.
Ndav
Hi there, bought this Bicycle copie recently for 10€, just like you. It's indeed not perfect but it's okay for that price. Sound is taken from the remastered edition if i'm correct (which is really a bad remaster ...). Are you sure the Bicycle version is from the same year as this one ? Shouldn't this one be added as a separate release ?
Dominator
I'm having the same skip issues on Head Like a Hole. Stay away from this press. Only paid $15 for it though so I'm not THAT mad.
Ƀ⁞₳⁞Ð Ƀ⁞Ǿ⁞Ɏ
Head like a hole skips in the same spots no matter what. The rest sounds awesome! Glad to hear it's this pressing and not our TT. Great album!
Biaemi
My first pressing of this release was really noisy and had a deep scratch on side A. Went back and picked up a replacement that's pristine and super quiet. The replacement came from a different store location. My guess is that there are good and bad batches.
Zuser
Both my friend and I have this same pressing and they both skip so much they're impossible to listen to. Don't waste your $14 (the price at our local record store) and buy the remastered 2xLP version. That one sounds great, has a bonus track, and is definitely authorized by Reznor while I would assume this pressing isn't.
Bludworm
The lp is very quiet and the bass has no hit to it its really annoying because you know how its supose to sound but this one doesnt live up to what you want it to be dont buy this one im going to ethier give mine away or hang it up. Otherwise love the album as usual just the pressing really sucked.
Xmatarryto
My copy is fine also next to no noise
Steep
I was lucky enough to get a 'good' copy of this. The people below me, well.... Let's just say their problems are more common. Repeating the message: Stay away from this release!
Adokelv
This pressing is trash. It skips so bad that it is unplayable. Do Not Buy.
Yar
you probably use a crosley. that would explain most of your issue.
Ariseym
Chiming in to say that this is a horrible pressing. Noisist LP I've ever heard. Much worse than even the RP of Aphex Twin's SAW II. To boot, it is extremely off center. Cleaning did not help.
Jek
The first track skips a lot. I tied adding wight, removing weight. Cleaning. No good. Is there another realease I should look for. Also seems a little warped. Brand new.
Burisi
You might have just gotten a defective copy with that skip, but even so I do agree that the sound quality on this particular pressing is quite poor. The double LP remaster has gotten mixed reviews. The main criticism of that one is that it's far too loud. You might be better off with an original TVT press on either vinyl or CD
Keel
you guys weren't kidding.. it IS really noisy.. not the best.. should have suspected as much considering that I picked it up on Amazon for under $12, haha.. gonna check out the double LP release.. see if it's much better
Sudert
Just bought this particular copy. Sounds like absolute garbage. So much noise. Has to be a defect. I've never had a record sound anything like this. Seems like all the noise is in the left channel.
Ces
It sounds fine to me.
Xal
I have a copy, playing as I write this. No skips but in quiet passages sounds like a television after the network signed off. NOT worth the money if many others are like this. It is pretty bad, I can hear it even with the first part of Sanctified playing. The music has to really go up in volume to drown it out. Wonder where this was pressed.
Kulwes
OK, I've read about other people having this problem with "Head Like a Hole," and apparently the issue is that we have cheap-ass record players. But this is the first of my hundreds of LPs that has done this, so it's frustrating.
Nikok
I just bought one today, new and sealed, that has skipping problems. Head Like a Hole alone has nearly 10 skips. I'll be returning it to the store, it renders the record unlistenable.
MeGa_NunC
My copy of the 2011 vinyl reissue UMe ‎– B0015767-01 has traces that affect the sound badly - those traces look like a problem in the pressing plant, so other copies might have similar problems.
Drelalak
I will check mine. But for this release, I am not sure that it is the remastered tracks
